Treatment

We are committed to high quality care with up to date and research based services:

  • Therapeutic Exercise – Therapeutic or corrective exercise has been shown to improve multiple musculoskeletal conditions. Strengthening with weights or bands, stretching, and postural exercises are implemented in the clinic and continued at home with a comprehensive program.
  • Functional Training – Exercise and movement patterns that train the body for activities performed in daily life.
  • Balance – Exercises that help reduce the risk of falls and subsequent injury for any neurological, vestibular, or systemic condition.
  • Manual Therapy –  Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy is any “hands-on” treatment provided by the physical therapist. Treatment may include moving joints in specific directions and at different speeds to regain movement (joint mobilization and manipulation), muscle stretching, passive movements of the affected body part, or having the patient move the body part against the therapist’s resistance to improve muscle activation and timing. Selected specific soft tissue techniques may also be used to improve the mobility and function of tissue and muscles.
  • Mechanical Traction – The application of a mechanical force to the body in a way that separates, or attempts to separate, the joint surfaces and elongate the surrounding soft tissues. It has been shown to be effective treating radiating pain in both the neck and back from various pathology including protruding or herniated discs.
  • Modalities – Electrical stimulation, ultrasound, cold-laser, promote healing and pain relief.
  • Education – Patients are instructed on proper lifting techniques, body positioning to relieve discomfort, ergonomics, injury prevention and pain management.
  • Equipment – Specialized lumbar rolls, pillows, supports, and bracing to assist in your recovery.
  • Gait training – Slow-motion analysis of your walking or running enables us to correct any imbalance that may be causing your pain or decrease in activity. Whether your a long-distance runner or amputee, you need to move with proper mechanics to get back to everything life throws at you.
  • Vertigo – Repositioning maneuvers to treat BPPV, gaze stabilization.
  • Mirror-Box Therapy – Used in treating CRPS, phantom limb pain, and chronic pain. Click here for more info.
