We hope you are doing well!  As summer draws to an end, leaf raking season is upon us.  While we love to see you, one of our goals is to keep you healthy and injury free. Here are a few tips to prevent injury while you are out there cleaning up after Mother Nature:

  • Use a lunging step as you draw the rake toward you.
  • Be sure to maintain proper posture (buttocks out and knees bent) when you bend to pick up the leaf pile.
  • Squat to lift the bag of leaves and hold it close to your body to minimize the pressure in your spine.
  • If using a blower, keep it close to you and blow onto a weighted tarp.
  • View our injury prevention video below for a detailed demonstration!
  • Or, hire someone else!

Video includes how to rake, shovel, get up off the ground with concerns over knee pain, shoulder pain, back and neck pain/using good body mechanics.
